WHAT MAKES A WEBSITE GREAT?
It’s our goal to not only provide you with amazing website tools that will allow you to convert more visitors into people shopping for your services. But we also want to add value, by educating you about websites, website design, what should be included on your website, and more. Below are four things that every plumbing contractor should include on his or her website and a couple of examples of companies that are doing a great job.
5 Things Every Plumbing Contractor Must Include On Their Website:
As a business owner in today’s digital marketplace, it’s important to understand the importance of your website. Your website is essentially your biggest sales tool. It is typically the first interaction a prospective customer or client has with your business. Thus, having a properly optimized and well-designed website is critical to achieving a good first impression. For this reason alone, it is worth hiring a professional web designer (like us) to assist you in the design process and optimization of your website.
With that being said, it is important to understand the elements of what makes a good website design – particularly for a plumbing contractor. That way, you can ensure that your website meets this specified criteria to give your business the best chance to succeed.
Below, we will be going over the four things every plumbing contractor must include on their plumber website design or templates, and we will be we’ll show you seven different examples of plumber websites or templates done right.
Perhaps the most important element on your plumbing contractor website would be a user-friendly design. Because a plumbing contractor is going to be targeting such a wide demographic, it is impossible to predict how technologically savvy any particular prospective customer is. Because of this, the website should be extremely user-friendly and easy to navigate. You want the website’s design to compliment the usability of the website itself and not complicate things unnecessarily.
A lot of plumbing websites make the mistake of making things much more complicated than they should be. Having a user-friendly design is primarily about making the entire navigation process easy and accessible. You want the text to have good contrast with the background, so the font is easy to read. You want the navigation tabs to be easy to notice and click. Everything that a prospective client would want to know about the business and anything that could help them make a well-informed decision should be easily accessible.
Nowadays, an increasing number of people are using their favorite mobile devices to research and even make purchasing decisions.
Because of this shift in how consumers make their buying decisions, it is more important than ever that service-based companies like plumbing contractors adapt to these changes.
Knowing a majority of your prospective clients are going to research your business using their favorite mobile devices, it is imperative that your website is mobile-friendly and responsive. This means your website should properly scale to all size mobile devices and it should be well optimized for them. Thus, your content should be tailored to mobile devices, and it should be just as user-friendly on mobile devices as it would be on a full desktop browser.
If you take a quick look at our templates you’ll see that some create examples of responsive design. You can even get started with before you live the site.
Another important thing to include on any plumbing contractor website would be a prominent call-to-action.
Your goal with your plumbing contracting website should be to generate leads for your business. Because you are a service-based business, your website should be designed to sell the services that you provide. Because of this, you want your call-to-action (CTA) to effectively generate leads for your service.
A good plumbing contracting website or templates will have a prominent CTA at the very top half of their homepage. That way, the prospective client can see it clearly and knows what the plumbing contractor wants from their visit on your site.
Typically, a plumbing contractor is going to have a CTA that leads a client to either a booking page to schedule an appointment or a simple web-based form which will allow them to input their information to get a call back from your company at a later time.
Another important element that you want to include on your website as a plumbing contractor would be a full-scale blog.
You want to have a blog on your website for a couple of reasons. For one, a blog can help your business both communicate with your prospective clients in a way that you wouldn’t be able to with a simple website. At the same time, it can help to demonstrate authority in your niche or industry and helps to separate yourself from the rest of the pack.
By demonstrating your professionalism and knowledge of plumbing, it can help to establish your brand and business as an authority in the industry.
Also, it is going to help with the overall organic ranking potential of your business because you will be able to pump out relevant and shareable content that is keyword rich. This is only going to improve your search engine ranking potential in the long run which is a critical factor in achieving success with your website, especially for local search engine optimization efforts.
